FIELD: manufacture of road-building materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides a novel bitumen binder, which can be used in building pavements for roads, bridges, airdromes, and like, and which exhibits high adhesion to basic and acidic mineral components. Modified bitumen is composed of 80.00-92.00% bitumen, 8.00-20.00% coal semicoking product, and 0.35-1.00% (above 100%) hexamethylenetetramine. Coal semicoking prodyc, in particular, is represented by thermal fraction >230oC of coal semicoking resin. Modified bitumen is obtained by mixing original bitumen with coal semicoking product at 110oC until homogenous mixture is formed, to which specified amount of hexamethylenetetramine is added, after which the total is heated to 160oC and held for 30 min at this temperature and constant stirring.
EFFECT: improved adhesion characteristics.
