FIELD: hydrometallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: recovery of gallium from powder waste materials is carried out by decomposition of waste materials in presence of oxygen and cathode electrochemical gallium deposition. Decomposition is carried out in aqueous solution of strong base in presence of atomic oxygen produced in anode region of electrolytic cell, while maintaining an anode current density of 0.2≤ Da≤1 A/cm2.
EFFECT: improved coefficient of gallium recovery and decreased number of processing steps.
