FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shock absorbers with adjustable rigidity either automatically or by force of operator and it can be used in road, railway, flying and other vehicles. Design of shock absorber implements safety zone in which compressed air pressure quickly rises when piston moved upwards which is ensured owing to provision of adequate tightness between piston and cylinder, and comfort zone in which compressed air pressure rises insignificantly which is ensured by free flow of compressed air from overpiston space of cylinder into underpiston space and back when piston is moving. Four design versions of shock absorber are provided in which similar application parts are used, namely, cylinder, cover, shock absorber-to-body fastening unit, pin, guide pressed into cylinder, rod in which unit for fastening shock absorber to wheel is found on axis from top, cup sealing the rod relative to guide, nut, dust trap, union and parts of known piston position pickup. Cylinder is filled with oil. Invention improves conditions of transportation f loads, provides riding comfort and safety of passengers, decreases load on vehicle wheels and on road.
EFFECT: increased service life of seat and systems of vehicle.
