FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: automotive hydraulic shock absorber comprises a pressure cylinder, an auxiliary reservoir and a piston assembly, whereas the specified piston assembly comprises an annular piston, including a plurality of intersecting passage channels on its upper and lower surfaces, a piston rod and a set of shims on both surfaces of the specified piston, partially or completely covering said passage channels designed to resist the flow of hydraulic fluid in said pressure cylinder as said piston moves through the hydraulic fluid.
EFFECT: increased shock absorber life and creation of a shock absorber with flexible damping capacity for a wide range of driving conditions.
