FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for measuring distance by means of frequency-modulated signal and used in radiolocation altimeters, level meters and for sounding media with high damping factor and limited bandwidth. Frequency-modulated continuous sounding signal is transmitted to target. Signal after being reflected from target is mixed with part of sounding signal and difference frequency signal is selected and subsequently filtered. Filtered harmonic difference frequency signal is multiplied in phase together with differentiated difference frequency signal. Scanning signal of modulating voltage is changed at times corresponding to extreme values of filtered difference frequency filtered signal by means of forming meander from filtered harmonic difference frequency signal. Leading edges of meander correspond to extreme values of filtered signal. After that signals for controlling modulating voltage autotriggering synchronization are generated from leading edges of meander.
EFFECT: improved precision of measurement; increased resolution: simplification of measurement.
