FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to remote measurement of object movement speed by Doppler radar station (DRS). Substance of method consists in irradiation of moving object with high frequency signal and simultaneous reception of signal reflected from object in reverse direction. Received radar signal contains a spectrum of Doppler frequencies, in which, to each object moving at speed Vi, corresponds to its Doppler frequency: , where λ is wavelength of continuous radar radiation. Selection of physical parameters of moving objects, namely velocities and spectral amplitudes, is achieved due to digital technologies and application of spectral harmonic analysis unit based on Fourier transform with duration of analysed record, containing an integer number of periods of Doppler frequency, which increases accuracy of measurements to error determined by signal-to-noise ratio.

EFFECT: technical result is high accuracy of determining speed of high-speed objects.
