PIPE CLEANING SCRAPER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for cleaning of outer surfaces of tubular members, in particular, for scraping and cleaning of protective quarts pipes used for sterilizing and/or disinfecting of water.

SUBSTANCE: scraper has outer casing including circumferential slot open toward inside and two aligned axial openings, and scraper member made in the form of elongated flexible wire, which is curved so as to define set of flexible integrally connected portions, each pair of adjacent portions being connected through curved part. Curved parts are inserted into slot so that at least one portion is extending substantially along chord of aligned axial openings. When inserted through aligned openings, tubular member deforms at least one portion in outer direction so that flexible force of deformed portion presses it inside toward tubular member to provide for cleaning of its said member during axial advancement of scraper. Method for cleaning of outer surface of tubular members involves directing tubular member through aligned openings of pipe cleaning scraper so that it deforms at least one portion of scraper toward outside.

EFFECT: increased effectiveness and simplified construction.
