FIELD: inorganic compounds technology.
SUBSTANCE: process consists in chlorination in sodium hydroxide solution at lowered temperature, the process being controlled by measuring redox potential of platinum electrode and stopping introduction of chlorine when redox potential is value achieves 555±10 mv.
EFFECT: improved quality of sodium hypochlorite solution due to eliminated sodium chloride in desired product, reduced consumption of chlorine, and simplified process due to automated measurement of reactive chlorine content.
