FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, specifically to disinfection, and can be used for disinfection of medical devices, rooms, nursing facilities, laboratory utensils in the event of spread infections of bacterial, viral and fungal etiology in medical institutions, public catering establishments, communal facilities. Described is chlorine dioxide, which, due to its unique disinfecting properties and good solubility in water, is used for disinfection of drinking water. Method for generating chlorine dioxide is described which is based on the interaction of solutions of sodium chlorite and citric acid in the presence of 2,2'-dipyridyl and acetylacetonate vanadyl (IV).
EFFECT: method for generating chlorine dioxide is simpler in technical terms, more economically efficient.
