FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for stabilization of nitrocellulose. Method for stabilization of nitrocellulose involves acid washing out of nitrocellulose with 0.5% sulfuric acid solution followed by alkaline washing out with addition of soda, grinding nitrocellulose, hot washing out, removal of impurities and squeezing nitrocellulose up to moisture 30% followed by mixing nitrocellulose with 0.5-2.5 wt.-% of diphenylamine or 1-4.5 wt.-% of diethyldiphenylurea to nitrocellulose mass taken as an aqueous solution in ferric (III) chloride crystal hydrate at room temperature for 0.3-5 h. The ratio of nitrocellulose to diphenylamine or diethyldiphenylurea an aqueous solution in ferric chloride crystal hydrate = (1:0.1)-(1:1). After termination of stirring nitrocellulose is washed out from ferric chloride with water and dried for 2-3 h. Invention provides increasing the guaranteed period for storage of nitrocellulose, to exclude using expensive organic reagents, to reduce energy consumptions and temporal consumptions and to enhance ecological safety of process.
EFFECT: improved method for stabilization.
