FIELD: explosives.
SUBSTANCE: invention is dealing with dibasic gunpowder, which can be used for armoring cartridges for rifle, artillery, and mortar systems. Method of invention consists in mixing cellulose nitrates, nitroglycerine, and in-water chemical stabilizer to form powder mass, pressing powder mass to remove water, rolling powder mass while performing heat treatment of mass to plasticize cellulose nitrates with nitroglycerine, and molding powder elements. Method is characterized by that, after pressing water out of powder mass, 30-80% aqueous solution of diethylene glycol monomethyl ether is added to cellulose nitrate mass as supplementary plasticizer in amount of 44-133% of the weight the mass and that, when the powder elements are molded, this supplementary plasticizer is removed via extraction with water at 20-60°C. Thus manufactured gunpowder is superior to existing analogs in what concerns its ballistic characteristics.
EFFECT: improved quality of gunpowder and reduced manufacture danger.
