METHOD FOR DETERMINING FREE RADICAL OXIDATION AND ANTIOXIDATION SYSTEMS CONDITION ON INJURED SKIN AREAS OF VITILIGO PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2241992 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves taking injured and intact skin samples, crushing, homogenizing, separating supernatant aliquots, determining antioxidation system enzyme activity in them using spectrophotometric techniques, free radical oxidation induction system is chosen and the corresponding induction reaction is set. Thiobarbiturate-active product absorption spectrum is recorded in produced supernatants in bandwidth of 480-590 nm. Its maximum is found and interpreted in terms of induced free radical oxidation products concentrations. Plots of their accumulation to oxidation time are built to determine accumulation rate. The value exceeding by 30% or more in injured skin when compared to unchanged or simultaneously reduced and unchanged enzyme activity, activated free radical oxidation and reduced antioxidation system activity state is determined and free radical-mediated skin injuries are diagnosed.

EFFECT: high accuracy in determining true relationships between free radical process and antiradical protection in injured skin in vitiligo lesion foci.
