FIELD: video information engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method designed for use in digital coding devices for reproducing rapidly moving parts includes conversion of image frame sequence into digital form, storage of pixel digital readings of current and reference frames, division of current frame into blocks, and search for motion vector of each current frame block relative to reference frame by minimizing definite check sum of given block, that is sum of norms of item-by-item level differences characterizing profile of frame blocks. Used as levels characterizing block profile in current frame are several modulo maximal factors of two-dimensional digital spectral conversion of current frame block and as levels characterizing profile of reference frame blocks, respective factors of digital spectral conversion of reference frame block.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of part reproduction due to reduced quantity of computing operations and enlarged vector search area.
