FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: continuous hydrogenation of aliphatic compounds having general formula NC-R-CN, where R represents linear or branched alkylene or alkenylene group containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms, into amino compounds is accomplished by means of hydrogen in presence of hydrogenation catalyst and strong mineral base selected from alkali and alkali-earth metal compounds. Method involves catalyst preparation stage conducted either in atmosphere or under pressure of hydrogen and consisting in mixing catalyst and a certain amount (0.1 to 50 mole per 1 kg catalyst) of catalyst-compatible strong mineral base with solvent, wherein solubility of strong mineral base is less than 3%. Mixture containing thus prepared catalyst is introduced into hydrogenation reaction medium containing compound to be hydrogenated and optionally solvent.
EFFECT: reduced by-products formation.
