FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to variants of method for selective hydrogenation of aliphatic dinitriles of the formula: NCRCN wherein R represents alkylene group consisting of from 2 to 25 carbon atoms to aminonitrile by contacting dinitrile with hydrogen-containing flowing medium in liquid phase in the presence of hydrogenation catalyst on a carrier and solvent containing liquid ammonia, alcohol or both these substances. Catalyst taken among the group including nickel, cobalt, iron or combination of two or more of them is used that are applied on magnesium oxide or in the presence of carbonyl group-containing organic addition taken among the group including organic amides, such as formamide, N- methylformamide, N, N-dimethylformamide, N-methylacetamide, N-methyldodecaneamide, acetamide, organic carboxylic acid esters, such as methylformate, ethylformate, carboxylic acid salts, such as sodium formate, ammonium formate and urea also. Invention provides the enhancement of selectivity by aminonitrile, in particularly, by aminocapronitrile. EFFECT: improved preparing method. 12 cl, 2 tbl
