SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a new method for preparing 4,6-dimethoxy-2-methylmercaptopyrimidine of the formula (I):
. Method involves hydrogenolysis of compound of the formula (II):
wherein R2 mean chlorine atom or group CH3O- using the hydrogenolysis agent in inert solvent medium in the presence of methylating agent followed by interaction with alkaline metal methylate in methanol medium. Also, invention relates to a method for preparing 7-[(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine-2-yl)thio]-3-methylphthalide that involves reaction of intermediate 4,6-dimethoxy-2-methylmercaptopyrimidine with oxidizing agent and interaction of prepared 4,6-dimethoxy-2-(methylsulfonyl)pyrimidine with 7-mercapto-3-methylphthalide. Method can be used in large-scale applying and allows avoiding complex procedures of purification and separation.
