SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the strain of Western equine encephalomyelitis virus - western encephalomyelitis virus - WEE 163-A that deposited in the State collection of viruses GU NII virology named after D. I. Ivanovsky RAMS at number GKV № 964. The strain elicits high reproduction, multiplies good in fetal embryonic cells and transplantable cells VERO under different culturing conditions and accumulates in titers up to 5 x 109 - 1 x 1010 BFU/ml. Rabbit antibodies raised to this strain reacts in high titers with other known strains of western encephalomyelitis virus distributing in different regions of the world. The strain is stored good at -70oC. The strain can be used for creature of genetic-engineering preparations.
