FIELD: mechanical engineering; sealing facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seals of plungers, roads and shafts of machines using plastic packing. Proposed oil seal with plastic packing consists of at two components-plastic base and particles of nonplastic filler force-fed by feeding device into working chamber with holes for mounting member to be sealed. Stepped holes form with member to be sealed a clearance of size minimum possible for penetration of nonplastic particles of filler.
EFFECT: improved reliability of oil seal.
