FIELD: investigation of cement stone microstructure for predicting strength, crack-resistance and durability of concrete and reinforced concrete structure under operational conditions.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determining grain-size distribution of initial powder material with the use of bolters; measuring dielectric permeability of mixture of initial material with water in predetermined ratio up to setting period; performing calcination hardening thereof after predetermined time period; measuring hydration degree of initial material; forming computer image of granule packing on the basis of above initial data; determining granule positions in initial setting period by Monte Carlo method; working at above corrected granule packing model along with increasing radius of particles to obtain porosity corresponding to hydratation degree of initial material; predicting homogeneity, possibility of crack formation and similar parameters on the basis of microstructure image analysis.

EFFECT: increased speed and accuracy of cement stone structure prediction.
