FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for rapid analysis of the quality of α-aluminium oxide based binding material (binder), which is used to produce refractories. The method of analysing quality of α-aluminium oxide based binding material involves granulometric determination of particle size distribution of the binding material in the 0.3-192 mcm range. Material in which the amount of fine particles with size of 0.3-6 mcm is equal to 50-100% of the total amount is selected; the rest of the particles should have size of 8-50 mcm. Particle size distribution is analysed by laser light scattering.
EFFECT: fast and efficient evaluation of quality of binding material, cutting time and costs for conducting of experiments with samples known to be unsuitable, high strength.
