FIELD: electrical engineering; spacecraft solar batteries designed to convert sun rays into electrical energy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed solar battery has tubular frame in the form of flat panels with regular compartments accommodating modules of same size as compartments; each module has solar cells interconnected in electric circuit by means of metal buses and shielded on face ends with transparent plates. Solar battery also has perforated film substrate. Rear ends of each pair of cells are glued together and perforated film substrate is pasted in-between; modules are secured to strings stretched on tubular frame at pitch which is a multiple of solar cell size.
EFFECT: enhanced mean capacity of solar battery without enlarging surface area of flat panels on non-oriented spacecraft.
