FIELD: feed production, in particular, equipment for root grinding machines.

SUBSTANCE: root grinder has hopper and rubbing drum vertically mounted inside hopper for rotation therein and equipped with cutting projections staggered on its surface. Rubbing drum is made in the form of hollow cylinder with open bottom base and conical top base widening in down direction. Hopper has helical cross section and longitudinal section formed as cone narrowing in down direction.

EFFECT: reduced power consumed for grinding process and enhanced reliability in operation owing to preventing inner cavity of rubbing drum from clogging with ground products.
