SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for grinding pumpkins and root crops in preparation for feeding on livestock farms. The device contains a shredder body with a loading hopper and a conveyor. Inside the housing on the shaft in the bearings there is a drum with four U-shaped grooves located at an angle of 90° relative to each other along its entire length. L-shaped knives are installed in the grooves of the drum, each of which is fixed in them with the help of a replaceable clamping device and three thrust bolts. The ends of the bolts in the longitudinal section are conic, which allows them to be held inside the U-shaped grooves, regardless of the resulting loads. The chopper body consists of two parts: the lower one is rigidly fixed on the frame, and the upper one is hinged, one side is connected to the lower part by means of a swivel joint, and the other side is fixed with the help of three hinged bolts. A replaceable counter-cutting element is installed in the upper part of the chopper body.

EFFECT: increased reliability of the grinder, its performance and quality of grinding while reducing the energy consumption of the cutting process.
