FIELD: foundry.
SUBSTANCE: mixer includes cylindrical cup in which rotor with disc cutter is mounted on drive shaft. Cutter is mounted with inclination relative to plane of rotor rotation with possibility of rotation around its own axis. Cutter is inclined relative to rotor rotation plane by angle 20 -50° and relative to radius of rotor by angle (-60) - (+60)°. At rotation of rotor molding sand is fed into cup. Material cut by means of disc is guided along disc onto lateral surface of cup. At rotation of disc there is no relative motion of molding sand flow and front surface of cutter that is why flow of sand brakes and falls onto bottom of cup. Then sand again is taken by means of cutter.
EFFECT: active agitation, enhanced quality of molding sand, lowered power consumption for preparing sand.
