FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines.
SUBSTANCE: external combustion engine contains housing with fitted-on front and rear covers. Housing accommodates rotor with blades. High-pressure spaces of working medium (gas) are in constant communication with compression and expansion chambers connected, according to working cycle, with cooler and heater. According to invention, rotor is arranged between side partitions provided with ports, one of which is in constant communication with heating space, and the other is in constant communication with cooling space. Constant volume chambers to transfer working medium are made between stepped blades of rotor. Heater is connected with rear cover of housing, and cooler, with front cover.
EFFECT: simplified design, improved specific characteristics.
