FIELD: oil and gas industry; metering fractional composition and flowrate of phases in three-phase mixture flow under all flow conditions.
SUBSTANCE: electric conductivity or dielectric constant of mixture is measured by means of electrodes disposed along throttling measuring section (case) installed in pipeline. Case is used at the same time to build up pressure drop which is measured in annular space between case and pipeline wall as well as near case. Velocity of phases is determined by cross- correlation of signals arriving from electrodes. Fractional composition is found by joint measurements of power characteristics and pressure drop. Volume flowrate of phases is found by their measurements jointly with velocity measurements and their mass flowrates, by next joint measurements of flowrates and phase densities. In the process slip between gas and liquid phases is included in measurements.
EFFECT: ability of taking measurements at practically single point due to compact design of measuring means.
