FIELD: determining grain size distribution in ceramic materials.
SUBSTANCE: microsection is formed on ceramic material specimen surface, microsection surface is polished to cleanliness level 10-12, irradiated with 1 - 10 pulses of electron beam at electron energy of 15 - 30 keV, pulse length of 30 - 50 μs, and beam current density of 40 - 50 A/cm2, then microsection surface topography pattern is visualized to determine grain size.
EFFECT: facilitated analysis, reduced time, enhanced environmental friendliness.
