FIELD: recovery of liquid radioactive wastes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves distillation in aluminum nitrate environment used as complexing agent. Nitric acid of 0.5 - 6 mole/l concentration is distilled with nitric acid anion being in short supply and with apparatus still holding partially hydrolyzed aluminum nitrate of 80 - 130 g/l concentration with respect to metal at aluminum-to-fluoride molar ratio over 1. Complexing agent is introduced in evaporator together with main charge or passed onto top plate as reflux.
EFFECT: enhanced degree of purification, reduced salinity of system.
