FIELD: joining and repairing pipelines, possibly in ship making, building, machine engineering, oil- and gas production industry branches.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing connection coupling with sealing member on end of first tube; placing end of second tube into end of first one until stop; moving connection coupling to butt zone; squeezing sealing member and fixing coupling; using cylindrical spiral as squeezing tool; squeezing sealing member by twisting turns of spiral around its axis. Apparatus for performing the method is in the form of connection coupling having two mounting members rigidly joined with outer ends of spiral and fixing members. Inner diameter of mounting members is to be equal to diameter of joined tubes or slightly more.
EFFECT: simplified technique, enhanced reliability of sealed joints of pipelines operating under high pressure.
