FIELD: aluminum metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: claimed material contains zinc, magnesium and nickel and has structure consisting matrix formed from aluminum solid solution with homogeneously dispersed particles of secondary precipitates and homogeneously dispersed particles of crystal-originated nickel aluminide In particular material contains (vol %): nickel aluminides 5.3-7.0, and balance: matrix. Matrix as dispersed particles of secondary precipitates contains 6-10 vol % of phase T' particles being metastable modification of T(Al2Mg3Zn3) phase with average diameter not more than 50 nm and equilibrium solidus temperature not less than 5400C. In particular embodiment of invention material contains globular nickel aluminides with average diameter not more than 5 mum. Material has Brinell hardness at least 160 and is made in form of castings having ultimate resistance of ςB at least 510 MPa, yield strength ς0.2 at least 420 MPa, aspect ratio δ at least 4 %. Material also may be made in form of strained half-staffs having ultimate resistance of ςB at least 570 MPa, yield strength ς0.2 at least 480 MPa, aspect ratio δ at least 5 %. Material of present invention is useful in product manufacturing, operated at 150-2000C.
EFFECT: new material capable to heat hardening with improved mechanical characteristics.
