GATE FOR MELTS IN AN APPARATUS OF PRODUCTION OF METAL MAGNESIUM Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy; production of a metal magnesium.

SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a gate for melts in the apparatus of production of metal magnesium and is dealt with nonferrous metallurgy, in particular, with production of metal magnesium by electrolysis of the fused salts. The technical result of the invention is an opportunity to regulate a jet of the melt and to increase reliability of blanking of a stream of the melted medium. The gate contains a body, an overflow tap hole, a relief fitting. The relief fitting is made conical with a relief channel and is fixed in the overflow tap hole in the bottom of the apparatus. The body is installed with a capability of free rotation around of a vertical axis of the relief fitting and is used for alignment of holes of the body and the channel of the relief fitting. The conical relief fitting and the body are made with a ratio of their effective surfaces angles of inclination of no more than 1:4.

EFFECT: the invention allows to regulate a jet of the melt and to increase reliability of blanking of a stream of the melted medium.
