FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: plant is designed to produce inorganic chlorides by chlorination of rare-metal starting material in molten chloride salt medium. Plant comprises chlorinator 1 and condensation system containing salt sprinkling scrubber 2, one dry (3) and two direct- contact two-pass(4,5) condensers, heat exchangers 7, tubs 6,9, and pumps 8 combined through gas ducts and pipelines. In order to increase productivity 1.5-2 times, chlorinator 1 is provided with column; separating barriers are connected with stack and column, installed radially or in parallel in respect to column, and disposed below the level of melt; gas lifts of scrubber 2 are located near opposite edges of vertical barrier and have protrusions inclined to horizontal; inlet pipes of gas lifts are oppositely directed; first direct-contact condenser 4 is arranged in parallel to dry condenser 3 and is connected through gas phase with scrubber 2, through liquid phase with chlorinator 1 and scrubber 2, and through tub 6 with pump 8.
