FIELD: foundry, namely machines for billet continuous casting.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes roller section, rollers with receptacles,, jets. Roller section is includes two cooling portions. First portion has length h1 consisting 0.15 - 0.20 of length H of the whole secondary cooling zone. Second cooling portion has length h2 consisting (0.8 - 0.85)H. Size of torch of jet along casting axis in plane of roller axes is determined according to expression L = K(T - D) where L - size of torch along casting axis in plane of roller axes, mm; T - roller pitch, mm; D - diameter of rollers, mm; K - coefficient equal to 0.2 - 0.5 for first cooling portion and equal to 1.0 - 1.3 for second cooling portion.
EFFECT: possibility of uniform cooling of billet and supporting rollers, enhanced quality of billet, improved strength of rollers.
