FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Proposed method comprises cooling continuous casting machine support rollers integrated into roller sections by feed coolant into roller central bore. Coolant flow rate is defined by formula Vb=α×B+β×W-δ×L2+ε×L-λ, where Vb is coolant flow rate, m3/h, B is billet width, m, W is billet drawing speed, m/min, L is distance from secondary cooling zone beginning to roller section center, m, α is empiric factor equal to 1.45-4.85 m2/h, β is empiric factor equal to 1.25-4.15 m2·min/h, δ is empiric factor equal to 0.01-0.03 m/h, ε is empiric factor equal to 0.18-0.58 m2/h, λ is empiric factor equal to 0.68-2.28 m2/h.
EFFECT: higher quality of billets and strength of support rollers.
