FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves forming knot. The first loop of future ligature is self-tightened. It is formed by two half-loops so that thread is fixed with thumb and index finger of the left hand. The other end of the thread is brought under clamp. The thread end held with the right hand is brought forth and fixed between palm surfaces of left hand thumb and index finger keeping the formed loop under tension. Working thread end is brought to the left of oneself and repeatedly brought under the clamp without tension to be applied to form the second half-loop. The free half-loop end held with right hand thumb and index finger is brought from right to left side and bottom-up under two threads of stretched half-loop and further brought between them and free lying right half-loop thread bottom-up and repeatedly caught with right hand thumb and index finger. The produced loop is tightened and fixed with fastening knot.
EFFECT: accelerated process for placing ligature; reduced suture material consumption; reduced risk of suppuration complications.
