FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surgery and can be used for recovery of integrity of sternum following sternotomy. Suture material used is a flexible thread with a smooth surface with length 110 cm. Blanket suture is made. Intercostal space is successively pierced, starting from level of xiphoid-sternal joint to level of jugular fossa, last pierces are made through breast portion of tendons of sternocleidomastoid muscle. Then by tension of lead and main thread ends cut edges of sternum are brought together, connecting suture ends with first knot, second is used to make a granny knot and knot is pulled behind running thread, after which 7-10 surgical units are made.
EFFECT: method reduces length of operation, provides uniform distribution of respiratory and cough loads on sternum.
