FIELD: processes and device for ultrasonic non-destruction control of articles and materials by means of ultrasound.

SUBSTANCE: thickness gage includes N circuits for primary analog procession in order to excite ultrasonic oscillations in controlled object, receiving and amplifying reflected pulses; main amplifier for detecting and amplifying envelope of received signal; analog-to-digital converter; circuit for digital processing of signal for extracting maximum information values of signal envelope and using them for calculating thickness values. Thickness gage also includes computer for processing, storing and displaying in form optimal for operator measured values and representing them as hard copy.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measuring in several points thickness of objects such as pipelines having single-side access at side of their inner surface.
