FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: drawing apparatus of billet continuous casting machine includes two-roll unit having lower roll mounted in housing and upper roll whose bearing assemblies are secured to rotary lever. One end of said lever is jointly mounted in housing; its other end is jointly connected with hydraulic cylinder. Rolls have cantilever type journals extending outside bearing assemblies. Pinions are fit on said journals and they are engaged one with other through two idle gear wheels being in mutual engagement. Bearing assemblies of one idle gear wheel are mounted on common axis with articulation joint of lever. Second roll is joined with drive mechanism. At process of drawing billet, rotation of driven roll through idle gear wheels transmits to non-driven roll. It increases total drawing effort. Due to lowered compression effort acting upon billet from rolls, macrostructure of billet has enhanced quality. If it is necessary to cast billet with different cross section, distance between centers of gear wheel engagement is kept the same.
EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities of billet continuous casting machine.
