FIELD: tapping molten glass contained in crucible.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method makes it possible to control moments of beginning and stopping of tapping and rate of flow by means of parts whose service life is equal to service life of crucible being cooled. Crucible has partially cooled bottom for forming layer of hardened material brought in contact with bottom; tapping is performed by opening the valve cooled in initial state; this valve closes hole in crucible bottom. Taphole is elongated in form; tapping is started from first end of taphole for forming thermal bridge between part of bottom surrounding the first end and melt of material contained in crucible above layer of hardened material. Device has bottom and unit for partial cooling of crucible for forming layer of hardened material brought in contact with bottom. Device is also provided with valve, unit for cooling this valve and taphole formed in crucible bottom and closed by this valve.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability.
