FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for manufacturing transplutonium element storage targets includes molding of porous matrix and its heat treatment in vacuum. Then matrix is impregnated with volatile organic liquid having boiling temperature of 20-80 0C at temperature below boiling point, heated in starting element extract using isomeric carbonic acid till complete evaporation of volatile liquid. After that matrix is cooled down in extract to 20-30 0C and exposed to this temperature for 30-60 min. Heat treatment is effected in inert or vacuum atmosphere at 450-600 0C to remove organic component of extract and immobilize starting element in porous matrix space.
EFFECT: enhanced uniformity of starting element distribution in matrix volume and radiation safety in target manufacture.
