FIELD: mechanical engineering; machining the articles by means of hobbing cutters.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes setting the gear to be cut in rotation around its axis and imparting rotary motion and translational motion to hobbing cutter; translational motion is performed at trajectory located at angle γ relative to axis of rotation of spur gear. For obtaining pointed teeth on spur gear for flat spur gear transmission, angle γ is selected according to expression given in Description depending on pressure angle and angles of turn of flat wheel and spur gear during generating process to pitch point and their ratio.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability.
