FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drive belts designed for transmission of rotation in machine drives. Proposed drive belt contains carrying layer, extension layer and compression layer. Carrying layer of belt consists of endless ring coiled cords of equal length arranged parallel to each other at definite pitch over belt width. Extension layer and compression layer are provided with cross relieving slots arranged in one plane square to cords of carrying layer. Width S of relieving slots in compression layer depends on distance t between slots, thickness h" of compression layer and minimum design diameter of pulley over which belt passes and are found by formula
EFFECT: increased carrying capacity, efficiency, service life, improved reliability of drive belts and enlarged sphere of their application.
