SUBSTANCE: manufacture of tobacco material with reduced content of nitrogenous compounds comprises providing tobacco material, treating it with first aqueous solvent to form aqueous tobacco extract? Separating the latter from tobacco fiber-containing fraction, and treating this fraction at about 50 to 150°C with solution containing two or more compounds selected from group including sodium acetate, sodium hydroxide, and potassium hydroxide, concentration of indicated compounds in solution ranging approximately between 0.10 and 10 % (w/v). Resulting is finally separated from tobacco fiber-containing fraction. Invention also provides leaf of restored tobacco containing tobacco material treated by above-described method.
EFFECT: improved quality of tobacco material.
