FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed internal combustion engine contains two valve actuating mechanisms, right-hand and left-hand ones, each provided with camshaft and cover, crankcase vent system with wells for spark plugs and with labyrinth oil separator with upper and lower walls found between covers of valve-actuating mechanisms and made integral with covers, with labyrinth formed by longitudinal spaces of covers connected to each other and divided by cross partitions relative to longitudinal axis of engine displaced relative to each other in zone of spark plug wells. Longitudinal spaces of covers of right-hand and left-hand valve-actuating mechanisms are connected by oil-separating wells in lower wall of oil separator. At least one longitudinal partition is installed in each well, being made integral with upper wall and forming slot-like clearance with well bottom. Covers of valve-actuating mechanism contain additional partition forming, together with end of lower wall, vertical inlet into labyrinth. Plastic is used as material for manufacture of covers and lower wall of oil separator. At least two bosses for mounting ignition coils are made in covers of valve-actuating mechanisms. If two or more longitudinal partitions are used, it expedient to make mating partitions. So, if two longitudinal partitions are installed made integral with upper wall, mating partition should be made in between on lower wall forming additional slot-like clearance with upper wall. To increase reliability of plastic cover of valve-actuating mechanism, bosses for ignition coils are reinforced by metal elements, such as bushings and guide strip connecting the bushings.
EFFECT: provision of high degree of oil separation from crankcase gases, reduced mass of engine, improved manufacturability of parts.
