FIELD: mechanical engineering; tools for mounting belts on pulleys.
SUBSTANCE: tool 10 has head 18 and many segments 11-17 connected by means of flexible connector 30 which is secured to head 18 and to end segment; it is thrown into sliding engagement with at least one segment located between head 18 and segment. Head 18 and segments 11-17 have surfaces 20 and 21-27 respectively which carry belt. Head 18 and segments 11-17 have projections 48 and 41-47 respectively for engagement with pulley rim. Segments 11-17 have surfaces 31-37 for placing the belt in pulley groove; these surfaces are perpendicular to surfaces 21-27 which carry the belt.
EFFECT: avoidance of damage of belt by tool in mounting it on pulley.
