FIELD: ammunition namely to artillery shells.
SUBSTANCE: the essence of increasing range of an artillery shell's flight is in that at moving of a shell along the bore of the barrel part of the gases in the space behind the shell is accumulated in its storage cavity. After shell's flying out of the bore of the barrel due to accumulative energy in the storage cavity in the space behind the shell the stern of the shell is extended by attaching to it a conic form. The shell's device for increasing its range is made in the shape of a stern telescopic extender which has a hollow fairing firmly fixed on the stern section and a mobile cap located in it with possibility for axial travel with follow-on fixation with the help of an expanding spring ring. The hollow fairing and the cap are made in the shape of cylinders connected with truncated cones of the same obliquity. In the center of the cap there is a throttle opening connecting the space behind the shell with storage cavity formed by the shell's bottom shear and the mobile cap.
EFFECT: allows to increase of an artillery shell's range due to decrease of bottom resistance on the trajectory of the flight.
