FIELD: testing engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises member of heightened rigidity, system for loading the zone of deformation localization, self-centering grips mounted inside the member and provided with the thread for securing the specimen, and system for gathering and processing information. The device is portable. The method comprises stretching the specimen monotonically with increasing load up to the breaking down. The load is monotonically decreases up to the zero at the moment when the value of specimen deformation coincides with the maximum possible residual deformation of material. The deformation is recorded during stretching, and complete deformation diaphragm is plotted.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of testing.
