FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: sample are produced, mechanical destruction testing of each of them is made, and by testing results, the values of plasticity indices are determined. To carry out the test, a batch is made of flat samples with a bridge formed by grooves directed from the sample side surfaces towards the center, the grooves angle of inclination of each samples batch in relation to its vertical axis is different and is from 0° 180°. Mechanical tests of each sample batch are carried out, the results of which determine the destruction time of each sample, followed by simulation of test samples in a program based on the finite element method by which the samples plasticity indices are determined at the time of their destruction, determined by mechanical tests.
EFFECT: development of a method for study of plasticity of metals and alloys having high accuracy results, simple implementation by reducing the range of special test equipment, and a set of snap-ins and special tools, as well as having higher functionalities by providing varying indices of stress state stiffness and Lode-Nadai in wide ranges.
