FIELD: testing of mechanical properties of materials.
SUBSTANCE: random shape rod samples deformations are registered when they are subject to resilient-plastic curve of external fixed lateral force, which creates bending moment in different cross-sections of working part of sample. Bending moment monotonously changes from zero to maximal value. Deformation of sample is determined as function of change in curvature of sample's longitudinal axis before and after loading. Diagram of deformation is found on base of that function by means of piecewise-linear approximation due to discrete exhaustive search of cross-sections with some pitch starting from cross-section with minimal load. To find any next point of diagram of deformation, part of diagram is used, which part is built during precedent steps.
EFFECT: improved precision; reduced cost; simplified process of testing conducting.
