FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely production of hot rolled strips.
SUBSTANCE: at finish rolling in mill at least in one intermediate pass at changing gap between rolls, rolled piece is produced. Said rolled piece has in its end portions thickened portions to removed in last pass where deformation is realized at constant gap between rolls. Inter-roll gap is changed simultaneously at changing rolling speed. At process of passing end portion of rolled piece and at its presence outside furnace in flat state, said portion of rolled piece is heat insulated with use of active or heat accumulating screens.
EFFECT: elimination of chilling of end portions of ready strip in comparison with temperature of its basic mass, enhanced quality of strips according to all controlled parameters.
